Happy Easter Holidays!

Covid-19 has changed our work, life and study completely. In the past 10 weeks many au pairs left us, we do understand that it's so important for these young men and women to return to their own families at this uncertain time. And we have supported most of them with their return jouney home. For the ones who are still at host home in China, we have continued to offer them support as best as we can, including providing online mandarin classes and virtual counselling.

After 76 days of lockdown, Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, lifted outbound travel restrictions last Wednesday as the novel coronavirus outbreak has been effectively controlled in what was the hardest-hit city on the Chinese mainland. China is only lucky to have 2,100 remaining cases as of April 12, 2020, meaning that we have cured nearly 98% of all confirmed cases. In cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou where most of our au pairs and host families are, there are altogether fewer than 270 cases remaining, most of them are recent incoming travellers. 

While we still see a strong interest of hosting on the Chinese family side, we could not foresee our next arrival time since the Chinese border being shut on March 28. But nothing will stop us from keeping connecting people. Over the last weeks, LoPair has ask our previous au pairs and/or future au pair applicants to offer 1-on-1 online tutoring to our host kids via the Chinese super app WeChat and it was quite well received. You may drop a line here: aupair@lopair.com to inquire of becoming an online tutor.

Please be assured that LoPair will continue to offer quality services to those who have applied our programs and to those who are in the country, while following guidance from the Chinese central and local entry and exit authroties as well as health advice from WHO.
